Elevate Business Construction

Hennepin County’s Elevate BusinessSM Construction offers construction consulting, intensive workshops, and cohort training for emerging and growing local construction businesses, with an intentional focus on serving contractors who are Black, Indigenous, and people of color. Costs are fully covered by Hennepin County, to help grow and diversify the construction industry. Hopkins is excited to work with Hennepin County in promoting this opportunity to help contractors grow their construction business. 

Eligible construction businesses may receive 25 hours of free one-on-one consulting with construction business advisors with expertise in:

  • Business assessment and development
  • Construction project management
  • Construction law
  • Construction accounting
  • Safety plan preparation

Eligibility 

To be eligible for Elevate BusinessSM Construction 1:1 Advising or the intensive workshops, contractors must: 

  • Be locally owned and operated in Hennepin County
  • Have completed at least two projects totaling $25,000 or more
  • Earn less than $4 million in annual revenue
  • Be established and registered with the Minnesota Secretary of State prior to 2021 and be in good standing 
  • Register with Elevate BusinessSM
