Rental Property Management

The City of Hopkins housing stock consists of about 60% rental properties.

1. Applicant Screening

   Any rental licensee in the City of Hopkins must conduct criminal background checks on all prospective tenants.

2. Crime Free Multi-Housing Program

   The program teaches rental property owners and managers how to keep illegal activity off of their property.

3. Fire Policies

4. Hopkins Apartment Managers' Association (HAMA)

   Hopkins Apartment Managers' Association is an active organization of apartment managers that works to maintain a strong rental market and to promote community involvement among its residents in Hopkins.

5. Rental Inspections

   Licensed rental properties in the City of Hopkins are subject to inspection a minimum of every three years.

6. Rental Property Owners & Utility Billing

   Utility bills are sent out no later than the third working day of the month and are due the 20th* of the month (or next working day if the 20th falls on a weekend or federal holiday).
