Garbage, Organics Collection Delayed One Day 
Week of September 1

A heads up for Hopkins residential garbage customers: The collection schedule for the week of September 1 will be adjusted due to the Labor Day holiday.

  • Monday, September 1: City offices closed, no garbage or organics collection
  • Tuesday, September 2: Pick-up for Monday routes
  • Wednesday, September 3: Pick-up for Tuesday routes
  • Thursday, September 4: Pick-up for Wednesday routes
  • Friday, September 5: Pick-up for Thursday routes.

The brush and yard waste drop-off site will also be closed on Monday, September 1. 


Building Safer Communities Microgrant Applications Due September 15

Applications are open for 2025 Building Safer Communities Microgrants. These one-time grants can help support programs, communication, advocacy, and organizing led by community-based organizations and community members which promote community safety and connectivity. The City will prioritize efforts that are led and influenced by Black, Indigenous, and people of color, and which are grounded in the needs of diverse Hopkins’ neighborhoods. Learn more about eligible projects and organizations and submit an application. 


Business Assistance Available in Hopkins 

Hopkins is hosting Thriving Thursdays with Elevate Hennepin, a business support initiative from Hennepin County. This pop-up, in-person, office hours-style opportunity offers entrepreneurs a simple way to ask questions, learn, and identify the next step for their idea or business. Join us anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, at the Hopkins Center for the Arts to ask questions, connect, and learn. Learn more about Thriving Thursday.
