Garbage, Organics Collection Delayed One Day Week of February 16

A heads up for Hopkins residential garbage customers: The collection schedule for the week of February 16 will be adjusted due to the Presidents' Day holiday.

  • Monday, February 16: City offices closed, no garbage, organics collection
  • Tuesday, February 17: Pick-up for Monday routes
  • Wednesday, February 18: Pick-up for Tuesday routes
  • Thursday, February 19: Pick-up for Wednesday routes
  • Friday, February 20: Pick-up for Thursday routes

West Metro Home Remodeling Fair is February 22

Looking for ideas or tips for your next home remodeling project? Stop by the West Metro Home Remodeling Fair between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, at the Eisenhower Community Center. The fair features a wide variety of exhibitors with products and services related to home improvement, including remodeling contractors, architects, landscapers, financial lenders and more. Learn more on the West Metro Home Remodeling Fair website. 


Rain Barrel Sale Opens February 28

The City of Hopkins is partnering with the Recycling Association of Minnesota to offer a rain barrel sale to Hopkins residents. Rain barrels are $100 each and are made of 100 percent recycled material, can hold 45 gallons of water, and come with a shut-off valve, hose and debris screen kit. Pick-up will be in mid-May at Hopkins Public Works. Keep an eye out on social media, Connections or the website for more information coming soon.


HR Next is Accepting Applications 

HR Next empowers business leaders with no-cost consulting, data-informed tactics, and strategies to solve workforce challenges, build a strong culture, and improve overall business health. This Elevate Hennepin cohort opportunity is designed to support established regional and midsize companies with custom human resources consulting and support. Learn more and apply to the program by February 25.


Façade Improvement Program Now Accepting Applications 

The Façade Improvement Program is accepting applications until March 20, 2026. Eligible properties are located between 5th Avenue and Shady Oak Road and between 1st Street N and 1st Street S. The City will fund, on a competitive basis, up to 50 percent of the cost of eligible improvements up to $25,000. Learn more about the program and apply online.
