World's Shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade is March 17

Join the community for the annual World's Shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade on Tuesday, March 17, beginning at 4 p.m. at the American Legion, 10 12th Avenue S, (parade line up begins at 3:45 p.m.). The parade, which is free and open to anyone, will travel four blocks down Mainstreet between the American Legion and the Hopkins Elks Lodge.

Façade Improvement Program Application 
Deadline is March 20

The Façade Improvement Program is accepting applications until March 20, 2026. Eligible properties are located between 5th Avenue and Shady Oak Road and between 1st Street N and 1st Street S. The City will fund, on a competitive basis, up to 50 percent of the cost of eligible improvements up to $25,000. Learn more about the program and apply online.

Hennepin County Small Business Recovery Fund

Hennepin County has recently approved funding to support small businesses in recovering from the recent federal immigration enforcement surge. Eligible small businesses may receive one-time grants between $3,000 and $10,000 to help cover two months’ business rent or commercial mortgage payments. Applications will open on March 18 and close on March 25. More information and the application will be available on the Hennepin County website.

Waste Prevention Grants Available

Businesses and nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply for Hennepin County’s waste prevention grants. Areas of focus include reuse and repair, replacing disposables with reusables, food waste prevention and projects around research and development to prevent waste. This year $400,000 is available for business waste prevention grants. Learn more and apply online by April 7.
