The City Clerk serves as the point of contact for most city business license and permits. The City Clerk also:
- Prepares council agendas
- Updates the city code of ordinances and policies
- Serves as the city’s authority on data practices
- Leads and coordinates elections
- Provides administrative support to the City Council and City Manager

Domestic Partnership Registration
The domestic partnership registry is a means by which unmarried, committed couples who reside in Hopkins and who share a life and home together may document their relationship.

The City Clerk's Office is available to answer any questions about absentee voting, polling locations, voter registration and service as an election judge.
