Hopkins Activity Center
About Us
The Hopkins Activity Center is a community facility with a gym, kitchen and meeting rooms used by residents for active or passive, large or small activities.
The Activity Center’s mission is to provide pathways to "Experience the Upside of Aging." It is a gathering place for mature adults to participate in recreational, social, educational, fitness and volunteer activities.
Activity Center Closed for In-person Activities
The building is currently closed to all rentals and senior programming until further notice. Virtual classes, meet-ups and events continue to be offered online.
As soon as the Activity Center can safely accommodate in-person senior activities, they will be incorporated into the programming schedule.

Generational Pen Pals
As you may know, the Activity Center is host to a group of 27 second graders from Hopkins Public Schools using the building as their home-base for an experimental outdoor adventure class.
The Activity Center is looking to pair up senior adults with each student to exchange handwritten letters each week. Participants will communicate with the same student from now until early June.
Letter writing is a great way for the students to practice their writing and communication skills and will also give you something to look forward to in the mail. All correspondence is sent through the Activity Center and personal information is kept confidential. Only first names will be exchanged.
Buddy Check
Are you unconnected digitally but would still like to have a social conversation? If so, the Activity Center is pairing up seniors to connect with a weekly phone call partner. This is a way to talk to someone else in your same situation and get a chance to reconnect with those whom you cannot meet with in person.
If you are interested in participating in one of these programs, please call the office or email activitycenter@hopkinsmn.com.
